This will always be discussed in your appointment and will usually be tailored to your conditions. However for general skincare, nail cuts and nail care, 6-8 weeks is usually advised for routine foot treatment. 

Accepted is BACs transfer and cards via a portable card machine at your appointment

Podiatrists and chiropodists are both healthcare professionals who specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle problems. 

Traditionally, chiropody was a term more commonly used in the UK, while podiatry was more common in the US. However, in recent years, the profession in the UK has largely transitioned to using the term "podiatry" to align with international standards.

In terms of education and training, both podiatrists and chiropodists undergo similar rigorous training programs, which typically include a  Bachelor of Science with honours degree in podiatry.  

They are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including skin and complex nail problems, musculoskeletal issues and injuries of the foot and ankle, and complications with diabetes and vascular disease. Additionally, podiatrists hold "prescription only" certificates, which means they can supply antibiotics if you have a foot infection and inject local anesthetics to numb your foot to carry out small surgical procedures!
